9. Thomas⁴ Howard Earl of Surrey (John³, Sir Robert², Sir John¹) was born in Tendring Hall, Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk 1443. Thomas died 21/05/1524 in Framlingham Castle, Suffolk, at 80 years of age. His body was interred 22/06/1524 in Cluniac Priory, Thetford, Norfolk.

He married twice. He married Elizabeth Tilney 30/04/1472. Elizabeth died April 1497. He married Agnes Tilney 8/11/1497. Agnes died 1545.

Thomas was knighted 14/01/1478. He made a will 31/05/1520. Had three sons and two daughters who lived to maturity with Elizabeth and six children with Agnes.

13 iii. Thomas Howard was born 1473. He married Anne Lancaster 4/02/1495. Anne was born 1475. Anne was the daughter of Edward IV Lancaster. Anne died 1511 at 36 years of age.

14 iv. Edward Howard was born 1477. Edward died 25/04/1513 in At Sea, near Brest, France, at 35 years of age. He married Alice Lovel. Alice was the daughter of William Lovel Lord Morley. Alice died 1518. She made a will December 1518.

He made a will January 1513. Naval Commander. Had two sons out of wedlock.
