George served in Royal Field Artillery in Flanders, France, 1911. George joined the Royal Flying Corps in June 1914. George was promoted June 1915 in Captain. George was promoted March 1916 in Major. His funeral was held in French Souvenir Cemetery, St. Omer, France, 11/07/1916. Was severely wounded in March 1915 and was invalided home; on recovery was made Squadron Commander at Hounslow, Chelmsford, Norwich and Dover; returned to France where he commanded No. 20 Squadron; was killed in an aeroplane accident. Buried at Longuenesse (St. Omer) Souvenir Cemetery. Grave IV. A. 1.
