James Lowis had the following child:

2 i. Margaret² Lowis. Margaret died 1743 in Hope Park, Edinburgh. She married Thomas Hope 8th Baronet 16/03/1702. Thomas was born in Rankeillor, Fife c1681. Thomas was the son of Archibald Hope and Margaret Aytoun. Thomas died 18/04/1771 in Hope Park, Edinburgh, at 89 years of age.
