10. William Lodge3 Kidd (Archibald2, Benjamin1) was born in Thornhill, County Armagh 16/12/1784. William died 2/04/1851 at 66 years of age.

He married twice. He married Margaret Johnston. He married Sarah Palten.

Two other sons and 5 other daughters with Sarah. MD in Edinburgh 1 Aug 1818. Two other sons with Margaret.

His early life was spent at sea as a navy surgeon during the French war. In 1816 he retired on half-pay, and before long entered upon extensive practice at Armagh. In November 1817 he read an important paper before the Royal Physical Society on the dreadful typhus then raging in Ireland.

William Lodge Kidd and Margaret Johnston had the following children:

child 18 i. Wilhemina4 Kidd. She married Reverend Hagan.

child + 19 ii. Archibald Napier Kidd was born 1839.

child 20 iii. Florinda Susanna Kidd was born 1841. She married Captain William Robinson 1867. William was the son of T. Romney Robinson. (See Captain William Robinson for the continuation of this line.)

William Lodge Kidd and Sarah Palten had the following children:

child 21 iv. Catherine Kidd. She married Reverend C. Maclean. Went to New Zealand. 1 son.

child 22 v. William Archibald Kidd was born in Ireland 1826. William died 1892 at 66 years of age. He was listed as a resident in the census report in The Castle, Dover, Kent, 1871. Lt. Col. late 27th Regt.
