4. Sir John³ Hope (Sir Thomas², Henry¹) was born c1603. John died 28/04/1654 in Edinburgh, at 50 years of age.

He married Margaret Murray 1632. Margaret was the daughter of Sir Archibald Murray.

John was knighted 1632. Had two sons and six daughters.

Sir John Hope and Margaret Murray had the following child:

+ 7 i. Archibald⁴ Hope was born 1639.
