6. Sir James³ Hope (Sir Thomas², Henry¹) was born 4/07/1614. James died 23/11/1661 in Granton, Edinburgh, at 47 years of age.

He married twice. He married Anna Foulis 14/01/1638. Anna was the daughter of Robert Foulis. Anna died 1656. He married Lady Mary Keith 29/10/1657. Mary was the daughter of William Keith 6th Earl of Marischal.

James was knighted 1641.

Sir James Hope and Anna Foulis had the following child:

12 i. John⁴ Hope was born 1650. John died 1682 at 32 years of age.
