He married Penelope Popham. Penelope was the daughter of Sir John Popham and Amie Games. Penelope died c1622. Her body was interred 6/03/1622.

Of Wimborne, Dorset. Recorder Weymouth, Melcombe Regis 1571 and Bristol 1585, Serjeant-at-law 1589, MP Melcombe Regis 1572, Bristol 1584-93.

Thomas Hanham and Penelope Popham had the following children:

9 i. Amy⁵ Hanham. Amy died 1640. She married Thomas Pyne 1595. Thomas died 1610. Married by 17 Jan 1605/6 to Martin White, of Fittleford, Dorset, and died in 1611, leaving issue.

10 ii. Jane Hanham. She married Sir John Horton. i0 Of Elkstone, Gloucestershire.

11 iii. Mary Hanham. Died unmarried.

12 iv. Anne Hanham.

13 v. Sir John Hanham was born 1574. MP East Looe 1601 and Weymouth 1604-11, High Sheriff Dorset 1614. Married Joan (bur 3 Aug 1615), widow of V-Adml Charles Trevanion and dau of Robert Wichalse, of Chudleigh, Devon, and died 28 Aug 1624, leaving:

Eleanor; m her cousin John Pyne, of Curry Mallet, s of Thomas Pyne by Amy Hanham, and d 1662 aged 53, leaving issue.

+ 14 vi. Thomas Hanham was born 1576.

15 vii. Henry Hanham was born 1583. Henry died 1648 at 65 years of age. Died unmarried.
