5. Sir Thomas³ Hope (Sir Thomas², Henry¹) was born 6/08/1606. Thomas died 23/08/1643 in Edinburgh, at 37 years of age.

He married Helen Rae. Helen was the daughter of Alexander Rae.

Thomas was knighted 1631. Of Kerse. Second son. Lord of Session.

Sir Thomas Hope and Helen Rae had the following children:

8 i. Levisa⁴ Hope. She married William Cochrane 1685. (See William Cochrane for the continuation of this line.)

9 ii. Elizabeth Hope. She married Robert Smith 1652. (See Robert Smith for the continuation of this line.)

10 iii. Thomas Hope.

11 iv. Alexander Hope.
