Gavin Hamilton

3. Gavin² Hamilton (Reverend William¹) was born in Cramond, Edinburgh 11/02/1704. Gavin died 1/01/1767 in Millbank House, Leith, at 62 years of age. His body was interred 7/01/1767 in Colinton Kirk, Colinton.

He married Helen Balfour 26/03/1732. Helen was born Riddle's Close, Leith 30/8/1709. Helen was the daughter of James Balfour 1st Laird of Pilrig and Louisa Hamilton. Helen died August 1793 at 83 years of age. She was christened in South Leith, Scotland, 13/9/1709.

5 ii. Anne Hamilton was born 1738. Anne died 1787 at 49 years of age.

6 iii. John Hamilton was born 1740. John died 1792 at 52 years of age. A London merchant.

7 iv. Robert Hamilton was born in Edinburgh 11/06/1743. Robert died 14/07/1829 in Aberdeen, at 85 years of age. He married Anne Mitchell 1771. Anne died c1778. Political economist and mathematician.

8 v. Elizabeth Hamilton was born 1749. Elizabeth died c1842 at 93 years of age.
