2. Gilbert² Heathcote (Gilbert¹) was born August 1625. Gilbert died 24/04/1690 at 64 years of age.

He married Anne Dickons. Anne was the daughter of George Dickons.

Gilbert Heathcote was the father of eight sons all of whom were merchant adventurers with only one exception who died young.

Gilbert Heathcote and Anne Dickons had the following children:

+ 3 i. Samuel³ Heathcote.

+ 4 ii. Josiah Heathcote.

5 iii. Caleb Heathcote. Settled as a merchant in New York. Surveyor-general of customs in the Northern District of North America and Admiralty judge for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

+ 6 iv. Gilbert Heathcote 1st Baronet was born 2/01/1652.
