25. John⁹ Gooch (Thomas⁸, Thomas⁷, Thomas⁶, William⁵, William⁴, Robert³, Thomas², Peter¹) was born 7/06/1752. John died 14/07/1823 at 71 years of age.

He married Barbara Sneyd 24/02/1791. Barbara was the daughter of Ralph Sneyd and Barbara Bagot.

Archdeacon of Sudbury, Rector of Benacre. Had two other sons who both died unmarried.

John Gooch and Barbara Sneyd had the following children:

29 i. Caroline Barbara¹⁰ Gooch. Caroline died 8/05/1827. She married Reverend Walter Davenport Bromley in St. George's Hanover Square, 28/07/1818. Walter died 1/12/1862 in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. i0 Formerly Walter Davenport, of Ellaston, Staffordshire and Capesthorne, Cheshire. of Saxlingham, nr Norwich, Norfolk.

30 ii. Henry Edward Gooch was born in Saxlingham, Norfolk 25/12/1793. Henry died 18/01/1867 at 73 years of age. He married Frances Knight 23/01/1857. Frances was born in London c1794. Frances was the daughter of Robert Knight. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Melbourne Hall, Melbourne, Derbyshire, 1861.

Henry was a boarder 1851 in 35 Lower Parade, Leamington Priors, Warwickshire. He was listed as head of household in the 1861 census in Melbourne Hall, Melbourne, Derbyshire. Lt-Col in the Coldstream Guards, retired (1851). Died without issue.

+ 31 iii. Reverend Frederick Gooch was born 10/04/1804.
