Sir John Elphinstone of Logie, Bart.
30. Sir John11 Elphinstone (Sir James10, William9, James8, Alexander7, James6, William5, Nicolas4, Andrew3, Laurence2, Sir Henry1) was born 1675. John died 1732 at 57 years of age.
He married Mary Elliot. Mary was the daughter of Sir Gilbert Elliot and Helen Stevenson. Mary died 1768 Pilrig House, Edinburgh.
Of Logie, in Aberdeenshire. Had six daughters. Four are named. One other married Henry Crawford of Monorgan and another married Dr. Elliot.
Sir John Elphinstone and Mary Elliot had the following children:

Margaret12 Elphinstone. Margaret died 1767 Pilrig House, Edinburgh.

Marion Elphinstone. Marion died 1770 Pilrig House, Edinburgh. Possibly listed as margaret in Vital
records index b 05/09/1715 in Edinburgh.

Sir John Elphinstone. John died 1743. Died unmarried. Baronetcy extinct (until 1929).

Cecilia Elphinstone was born 1704. Cecilia died 1780 at 76 years of age. She married
Professor James Balfour August 1737. James was born Riddle's Close, Leith 20/8/1705. James was the son of James
Balfour 1st Laird of Pilrig and Louisa Hamilton. James died 06/03/1795 Pilrig House, Edinburgh, at 89 years of age.
His body was interred 1795 in Parish Church, South Leith, Scotland. He was christened in South Leith, Scotland,

She was christened in Edinburgh, 30/06/1704.

Jean Rattray 1753. Jean was born 1711. Jean died 1765 at 54 years of age. Died without issue.
