Sir Gilbert Elliot, Lord Minto

4. Sir Gilbert³ Elliot (Gavin², Gilbert¹) was born 1651. Gilbert died 1/05/1718 at 66 years of age.

He married twice. He married Helen Stevenson in Edinburgh, 28/12/1680. Helen died 1689. Her body was interred November 1689 in Greyfriars Churchyard, Edinburgh. He married Jean Carre 7/04/1692. Jean died 1751.

Gilbert was knighted 1692. Gilbert was created Baronet 19/04/1700. Lord Minto. Of Headshaw and Minto.

Sir Gilbert Elliot and Helen Stevenson had the following child:

Mary Elliot, wife of Sir John Elphinstone of Logie, Bart.

6 i. Mary⁴ Elliot. Mary died 1768 Pilrig House, Edinburgh. She married Sir John Elphinstone. John was born 1675. John was the son of Sir James Elphinstone and Cecilia Denholm. John died 1732 at 57 years of age. (See Sir John Elphinstone for the continuation of this line.)

Sir Gilbert Elliot and Jean Carre had the following children:
