66. Sir James¹³ Ashe (Joseph¹², James¹¹, John¹⁰, James⁹, Nicholas⁸, John⁷, William⁶, John⁵, Baldwin⁴, Richard³ Eshe, Henry², Sir Oliver¹ D'Esse) was born c1674. James died 8/11/1733 at 59 years of age. His body was interred 1733 in Halstead, Kent.

He married Catherine Bowyer. Catherine was the daughter of Sir Edmund Bowyer. Catherine died May 1717.

He was baptized 24/07/1674. MP for Dowton, Wiltshire.

Sir James Ashe and Catherine Bowyer had the following children:

77 i. Martha¹⁴ Ashe. She married Joseph Windham. He made a will 21/07/1746. Joseph's will was probated 1/08/1746. i0 Took the surname of Ashe in addition.

78 ii. Joseph Ashe. Joseph died c1703. His body was interred 10/01/1703.

79 iii. Elizabeth Ashe. She married Thomas Jobber 26/02/1730. i0 Solicitor to the Admiralty.
