23. Reverend Samuel¹¹ Hamersley (Hugh¹⁰, Hugh⁹, William⁸, Sir Hugh⁷, Hugh⁶, Richard⁵, Richard⁴, Rad'us³ de Homersley, Adam², Robert¹) was born 1714. Samuel died 1775 at 61 years of age.

He married Anne Alleine 1765. Anne died 1767.

Rector of Checkendon, Oxfordshire.

Previously to the 16th century this family was seated in Staffordshire. One of the Staffordshire house, Sir Hugh Hamersley, settling in London, was president of Christ's Hospital, and became lord mayor of London, 1627. From him is supposed to descend this line of Hamersley's.

Reverend Samuel Hamersley and Anne Alleine had the following child:

+ 25 i. Hugh¹² Hamersley was born 1767.
