Dr. Robert Whytt of Bennochy
9. Dr. Robert9 Whytt (Robert8, John7, Robert6, John5, John4, David3, Robert2, Matthew1) was born 1714. Robert died 1766 at 52 years of age.
He married Louisa Balfour 1743. Louisa was born Pilrig House, Edinburgh c1718. Louisa was the daughter of James Balfour 1st Laird of Pilrig and Louisa Hamilton. Louisa died 1764 at 46 years of age.
Fifth Baron of Bennochy in Fifeshire. Succeeded his brother. Dr. Whytt was made Professor of Edinburgh University in 1747. Appointed First Physician to the King in Scotland.
Dr. Robert Whytt and Louisa Balfour had the following children:

Louisa Whytt was born in Edinburgh 22/03/1748. She married Rear-Admiral John

Jean Whytt, wife of John Balfour of Pilrig

Jean Whytt was born 1750. Jean died 20/11/1833 at 83 years of age. She married
John Balfour 3rd Laird of Pilrig 26/01/1773. John was born Pilrig House, Edinburgh 1740. John was the son of

Buried in the Parish Church of South Leith.
