He married Margaret Brooke in Bebington, Cheshire, 11/06/1851. Margaret was born in Dublin, Ireland 1822. Margaret was the daughter of Henry Daniel Brooke and Lucinda Dobbin. Margaret died 1910 at 88 years of age. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Clifton Park, Tranmere, Cheshire, 1851.

George Symes and Margaret Brooke had the following children:
