Enlisted August 1914, 13th Battalion Royal Highlanders of Canada (Black Watch). Commissioned Lieutenant, April 1915, and became company commander and Captain in February 1916. Wounded June 1916, and after recovery appointed Adjutant, Military Hospital, England. Returned to Battalion in France, 1817 commanding "C" Company, 13th Battalion. Killed in action 6th April 1918. Buried in Duisans, France.
