William Pierce Ashe à Court

27. William Peirce⁷ Ashe à Court 1st Baronet (William⁶ à Court, Peirce⁵, John⁴, John³, William², William¹)⁽³¹⁾ was born 22/06/1747. William died 27/07/1817 in Heytesbury, Wiltshire, at 70 years of age. His body was interred 1817 in Heytesbury, Wiltshire.

He married twice. He married Katherine Bradford 1769. Katherine was born 1744. Katherine was the daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel John Bradford. Katherine died 23/09/1776 at 32 years of age. Her body was interred 1776 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. He married Laetitia Wyndham in Salisbury Cathedral, Wiltshire, 30/10/1777. Laetitia was born 1746. Laetitia was the daughter of Henry Wyndham and Arundell Penruddock. Laetitia died 2/08/1821 in Bath, Somerset, at 75 years of age. Her body was interred 1821 in Heytesbury, Wiltshire. She was christened in Salisbury, Wiltshire, 3/10/1746. Inscription found in Heytesbury Church:

William was created Baronet 4/07/1795. MP for Heytesbury 1781 - 1806. Colonel in Army.

Sacred to the memory of the Honourable Laetitia Eliot, eldest daughter of Sir WPA a Court Baronet. She died in her first childbed of twins, born dead, on the 20th January 1810, aged 31.

Let those whose distresses have been relieved by her benevolence or soothed by her gentleness pay the best tribute to her memory by allowing her mild example of influence on their hearts and lives; Let those sometimes look at this memorial and contemplate the benefit to be derived from a lively recollection of her piety and charity in the season of prosperity and ease and of her meekness and resignation when the Almighty changed the manner of her trial and stretched her on the bed of suffering pain and death.
