18. Clarence Napier4 Bruce 3rd Baron Aberdare (Henry Campbell3, Henry Austin2, John1) was born in St. George's Hanover Square 2/08/1885. Clarence died 4/10/1957 in Morinj, Yugoslavia, at 72 years of age.

He married twice. He married Margaret Bethune Black 12/12/1912. Margaret was the daughter of Adam Black. He married Grizelda Harriet Violet Finetta Georgiana Hervey 12/09/1957. Grizelda was the daughter of Dudley Francis Amelius Hervey.

Played for Middlesex (1919 - 1929). Excelled at rackets and real tennis. He was real tennis champion of the United States in 1930, and of England in 1932 and 1938. In 1931 Aberdare had joined the executive committee of the international Olympics. He attended the games at Los Angeles in 1932, Berlin in 1936, and after the war in London (1948), Helsinki (1952), and Melbourne (1956). While returning from an Olympic meeting in Sofia, he was killed in a car accident. Had 2 sons and 2 daughters.
