2. Sir Walter Wagstaffe² Bagot (Sir Edward¹) was born 23/08/1702. Walter died 20/01/1768 at 65 years of age. His body was interred 1768 in Blithfield, Staffordshire.

He married Lady Barbara Legge 27/07/1724. Barbara died 29/08/1765. Her body was interred 1765 in Blithfield, Staffordshire.

of Blythfield, Stafftordshire, Bart. Only surviving son and heir. MP for Newcastle-under-Lyme in the last parliament of George I.

Sir Walter Wagstaffe Bagot and Lady Barbara Legge had the following children:

3 i. Edward³ Bagot. Died in infancy.

4 ii. John Bagot. Died in infancy.

5 iii. Barbara Bagot was born 29/03/1725. She married Ralph Sneyd. Ralph was born 1723. Ralph died 10/12/1793 at 70 years of age. (See Ralph Sneyd for the continuation of this line.)

6 iv. Ann Bagot was born 28/02/1727. Ann died 30/12/1812 at 85 years of age. Died unmarried.

+ 7 v. William Bagot 1st Lord Bagot was born 28/02/1728.

8 vi. Charles Bagot was born 1/12/1730. Charles died 2/04/1792 at 61 years of age. He married Catherine Legge 3/10/1765. Catherine was the daughter of Heneage Legge. Took the name and arms of Chester by Act of Parliament, in pursuance of the will of his cousin, Sir Charles Bagot Chester of Chichley, Co. Buckinghamshire.

9 vii. Walter Bagot was born 2/11/1731. Walter died 1806 at 74 years of age. He married twice. He married Mary Ward. He married Anne Swinnerton 1/09/1773. Anne was the daughter of William Swinnerton. of Pipe Hall. Rector of Blythfield and Leigh, Co. Stafford.

10 viii. Frances Bagot was born 3/11/1732. Died in infancy.

11 ix. Richard Bagot was born 13/11/1733. Richard died 12/11/1818 at 84 years of age. He married Frances Howard. Frances was the daughter of William Howard Viscount Andover. Frances died 16/09/1818. He took the name of Howard by royal sign manual.

12 x. Jane Bagot was born 29/09/1735. Jane died November 1816 at 81 years of age. Died unmarried.

13 xi. Elizabeth Bagot was born 17/09/1738. Elizabeth died 7/07/1821 at 82 years of age. Died unmarried.

14 xii. Maria Bagot was born 23/11/1739. Maria died 21/03/1813 at 73 years of age. She married Rowland Wingfield. i0 of Preston-Buckhurst, Shropshire.

15 xiii. Lewis Bagot was born 1/01/1740. Lewis died 4/06/1802 in London, at 62 years of age. His body was interred 1802 in St. Asaph Cathedral. He married Mary Hay 7/10/1771. Mary was born 25/07/1754. Mary was the daughter of Edward Hay. Mary died 17/08/1799 at 45 years of age. Her body was interred 1799 in St. Asaph Cathedral. Educated at Westminster School and matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford on 8 March 1757. Bishop of Bristol, Norwich and St. Asaph. No issue.

16 xiv. Catherine Bagot was born 25/02/1742. Catherine died 22/02/1812 at 69 years of age. Died unmarried.

17 xv. Henrietta Bagot was born 4/02/1744. Henrietta died 25/01/1825 at 80 years of age.

18 xvi. Thomas Bagot was born 14/02/1746. Died at Naples, unmarried.
