24. Charles³ Bagot (William², Walter¹) was born in Blithfield Hall, Staffordshire 23/09/1781. Charles died 19/05/1843 in Kingston, Ontario, at 61 years of age.

He married Lady Mary Charlotte Anna Wesley-Pole 22/07/1806. Mary was the daughter of William Wesley-Pole 3rd Earl of Mornington. Mary died 2/02/1845.

Educated Rugby School and Christ Church College, Oxford, matriculated 26 October 1797; BA 1801; MA 1804.

Diplomatist and governor-in-chief of British North America.

Lincoln's Inn 12 November 1801. MP for Castle Rising in 1807. Ambassador to Russia, 1820; Governor-general of Canada 1841 - 1843.
