1. Alexander¹ Arbuthnot was born 1636. Alexander died 27/02/1691 at 54 years of age.

He married twice. He married Margaret Lammie. Margaret was the daughter of John Lammie. He married Catherine Ochterlony.

Educated Marischal College, Aberdeen. Minister of Arbuthnott. Had 4 daughters. On 24 September 1689 the Revd Alexander, with other ministers who would not conform and take the oaths to William and Mary, was deposed from his parish by the privy council in Edinburgh.

Alexander Arbuthnot and Margaret Lammie had the following children:

4 iii. Robert Arbuthnot was born 1669. He was baptized 3/06/1669. Religion: religion unknown. Educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen. Had a daughter.

+ 5 iv. Alexander Arbuthnot was born 1675.

Alexander Arbuthnot and Catherine Ochterlony had the following child:

+ 6 v. George Arbuthnot was born 1688.
