2. Rev Benjamin Buckler Gifford² Ludford-Astley (Francis B.¹ Astley) was born in Mannisford, Wiltshire 27/04/1819. Benjamin died 1897 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, at 78 years of age.

He married Susan Louisa Pleydell Bouverie in Pewsey, Wiltshire, 29/01/1850. Susan was born in Wiltshire 20/03/1832. Susan was the daughter of Reverend Frederick Pleydell Bouverie and Elizabeth Sullivan. Susan died 7/06/1854 at 22 years of age. Curate of Everleigh in 1851. Seems to be married to Maria Catherine. b c. 1846 in Bognor, Sussex in 1871 census.

Rev Benjamin Buckler Gifford Ludford-Astley and Susan Louisa Pleydell Bouverie had the following children:

4 ii. Francis Edmund George Ludford-Astley was born in Pewsey, Wiltshire 4/01/1853. He was listed as a resident in the census report in The Parsonage, Merevale, Warwickshire, 1861.
