12. James³ Balfour (David², Alexander¹) was born c1543. James died 1613 at 70 years of age.

He married twice. He married Barbara Melville 1575. Barbara was born c1557. Barbara was the daughter of Richard Melville and Isabell Scrymgeour. He married Isobel King 05/07/1595.

James Balfour and Barbara Melville had the following children:

20 i. James⁴ Balfour.

21 ii. Nicolas Balfour was born c1579. She married George Garden July 1595.

+ 22 iii. Andrew Balfour was born 1587.
